NAPA back with Michael Waltrip in a one-year deal

The Charlotte Observer

Friday, Aug. 08, 2008

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. - Michael Waltrip Racing announced Friday it had agreed to a one year-contract extension with NAPA to sponsor its No. 55 Toyotas and driver Michael Waltrip.

The agreement extends NAPA's sponsorship of Waltrip to nine consecutive seasons.

"I have celebrated my greatest racing moments wearing NAPA colors and we have enjoyed some wonderful on-track and commercial success," said Waltrip, who won the 2001 Daytona 500 in his first Sprint Cup race with NAPA as a sponsor.

In 2007, Waltrip launched his own Cup organization and currently fields three teams, with himself, Michael McDowell and David Reutimann.
