NASCAR OK with penalties against Yeley

Tuesday, Jul. 15, 2008

NASCAR plans no further penalties against Hall of Fame Racing after holding the No. 96 Toyota in the garage Saturday night until just before the start of the LifeLock 400.

The team swapped a container holding a beverage for J.J. Yeley to drink during the race without having an inspector witness the exchange, but Sprint Cup Series director Robin Pemberton said afterward that NASCAR believes the team did try to subvert any rule by doing so.
