FORT LEWIS, Wash. -- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kasey Kahne drew a long line of fans when he visited Fort Lewis.

More than 250 fans waited anxiously outside the Fort Lewis PX on Monday for a photo opportunity with the 28-year-old driver from Enumclaw, Wash.

Kahne says he liked "listening to them a lot and seeing where they've been and what they've gone through." He says he'd like to return for another visit with soldiers at the Army base near Tacoma, Wash.

Although Kahne finished 33rd at the Toyota/SaveMart 350 in Sonoma, Calif., last weekend, he ranks first in NASCAR Sprint Cup money earned at more than $3.7 million this season and is ninth in the driver points standings.
