Charlotte stop on route for Petty ride

Charlotte will be one of the stops for the 14th annual Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America in July.
The ride, sponsored by Chick-fil-A, will begin July 13 in Traverse City, Mich. It will make overnight stops in Elkhart Lake, Wis.; Lombard, Ill.; Lexington, Ky., White Sulfur Springs, W.Va.; Charlotte, and Peachtree City, Ga., before ending in Savannah.
Riders will visit Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman on July 17. The children attending the camp that week will be doing so thanks to money raised by last year’s ride.
The ride has raised more than $10.5 million in its history.
