Fogarty sets track record in Grand-Am qualifying

SONOMA, Calif. – Jon Fogarty set a track record in qualifying Friday for Saturday’s Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series’ Armed Forces 250 at Infineon Raceway.

Fogarty went around the 2.52-mile Infineon road course at 103.058 mph, breaking the one-year old record of 102.818 mph set last year by Jan Magnussen. He drove the No. 99 Gainsco Pontiac Riley to the team’s eighth consecutive pole position and ninth of the year.

Nic Jonsson was second fastest at 102.577 mph in the No. 75 Krohn Racing Pontiac Riley. Darren Law will start third after qualifying at 102.387 mph in the No. 58 Red Bull/Brumos Porsche Riley.
