MONTREAL -- Jacques Villeneuve is returning to the Montreal race track named for his father.
The Canadian driver says he'll be driving for the Braun Racing team at the NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Montreal next month.
The former Formula One champion financed his own brief foray into stock cars and trucks last summer. He was invited by Bill Davis Racing to drive in the Daytona 500, but failed to qualify for the main race. Even still, Villeneuve says he believes he has a future in NASCAR.
He is one of the best-known drivers in motor racing and has titles from every series he has entered. But Villeneuve hasn't done much winning since leaving the powerful Williams Formula One team to join the start-up BAR team in 1999.
Vettel to switch to Red Bull team
FRANKFURT, Germany -- German driver Sebastian Vettel will switch to the Red Bull team from Toro Rosso in the next Formula One season.
Vettel will replace David Coulthard, who is retiring at the end of this season.
"As he was already part of the Red Bull family, choosing Sebastian as Mark Webber's teammate was not a difficult decision," team chief Sebastian Horner said.
Both Toro Rosso and Red Bull are owned by Austrian businessman Dietrich Mateschitz, who intends to sell Toro Rosso. The team will continue racing in 2009.
