Wilkerson tops Funny Car qualifying

COMMERCE, Ga. – Tim Wilkerson topped Funny Car qualifying Friday in the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

Wilkerson drove his Chevy Impala SS to a 4.774-second pass at 325.92 mph to become the provisional top qualifier. It will be his 13th career No. 1 and second in Commerce.

Cory McClenathan led the Top Fuel field, piloting his FRAM dragster to a 4.562-second run at 327.03 mph. In Pro Stock, Ron Krisher drove his Chevy Cobalt to a 6.644-second pass at 207.69 mph for the provisional top spot.

Andrew Hines had a track-record run of 6.950 at 191.40 on a Harley Davidson for the provisional top spot in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
