Rain from the outer bands of Tropical Storm Hanna has forced NASCAR officials to cancel qualifying for Friday night's Emerson Radio 250 Nationwide Series race at the Richmond International Raceway. By rule, 18-year-old Joey Logano will start on the pole based on series owner points. Logano drives the No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Starting alongside Logano will be series points leader Clint Bowyer, who currently holds a 204-point advantage with eight races remaining in the season.

Brad Keselowski will start third, followed by Scott Wimmer and defending series champion Carl Edwards. David Reutimann, Kevin Harvick, David Ragan, David Stremme, and Mike Bliss will start sixth through 10th, respectively.

Teams were able to practice earlier in the day, with Denny Hamlin leading the way at 123.689 m.p.h. Hamlin will start 27th, driving the No.18 Toyota for JGR.

Austin Dillon, the 18-year-old grandson of team owner Richard Childress, will start 31st in his Nationwide debut at Richmond, driving the No.21 Chevrolet for Childress. Like Logano, Dillon comes from NASCAR Camping World Series East, where he won his first event in April.

The race was scheduled to start around 8:00 p.m. (et), weather permitting.
