WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. - Sprint Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin recently purchased a new motorhome to use during race weekends and decided to donate his old one to Motor Racing Outreach, an organization that provides religious and counseling services to those who work at race weekends in several series.
"You look for different ways to try to give back, and a lot of people do it in different ways. MRO has been a huge supporter for us," Hamlin said. "They go beyond for the race teams and the drivers."
Hamlin said he hoped the motorhome he donated will help the organization save money on hotels and assist the MRO staff.
"It's just showing our appreciation for them because they're the unsung heroes of our sport."
