Jack Sprague to join Harvick team

The Charlotte Observer

Thursday, Nov. 01, 2007

FORT WORTH, Texas - Kevin Harvick Inc. is already battling for a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship and is now poised to add another championship driver.

Three-time Truck series champion Jack Sprague will join KHI next season as a teammate to the team's current driver, Ron Hornaday, The Charlotte Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned.

KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick and his wife, DeLana, are scheduled to announce their 2008 plans during Speed Channel's broadcast of Friday night's Truck race from Texas Motor Speedway.

Hornaday, a two-time champion, currently leads Mike Skinner by four points with three races remaining this season. Should Hornaday win the title, it would be the first championship for KHI, based in Kernersville, N.C.

Sprague, who currently drives Toyotas for Wyler Racing, had already announced plans to leave that team at the end of the season. He is 10th in points with one win and two poles in 2007.

In his 12-plus seasons in the Truck series, Sprague has 28 wins, 32 poles and 131 top-five and 181 top-10 finishes in 269 starts.
