JOLIET, Ill. -- The annual Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America rolled off Saturday from Bar Harbor, Maine, to begin a 2,800 trek toward Hollywood, Fla.
The annual charity event is going north to south for the first time this year after crossing the nation from west to east in its 12 previous editions.
The motorcycle caravan stopped in Woodstock, Vt., overnight and will be in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., tonight. After stops in Gettysburg, Pa., and Hot Springs, Va., the riders will visit the Victory Junction Gang Camp on Wednesday, arriving around 1 p.m.
From there, it’s on to Augusta, Ga., and St. Augustine, Fla., before ending Friday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
Fans can keep up with the more than 275 participants’ progress at www.chick-fil-akylepettycharityride.com. The ride has raised more than $9 million in its history.
