DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Up-and-comer Brad Keselowski may have done more than turn heads with his impressive run in last weekend’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race.
Keselowski is among the candidates being seriously considered to replace Shane Huffman in JR Motorsports’ No. 88 Chevrolet in the Busch Series, The Charlotte Observer has learned.
Several other drivers have expressed interest in the ride, including former series drivers Steve Park, Scott Lagasse and Clayton Rogers, sources said.
Keselowski, a 23-year-old native of Rochester Hills, Mich., filled in for a suspended Ted Musgrave last week and won the pole and led 62 of 200 laps at the Memphis Truck Series race. Late in the race he spun out following contact with eventual winner Travis Kvapil and finished 16th.
Keselowski’s best series finish was seventh at the 2005 season opener at Daytona. He also has 20 Busch starts since last season, with his best finish of 24th at Dover, Del.
