Who's Hot/Who's Not

Ryan Newman: No job for 2014 but a Brickyard 400 hopefully expanded his options.

Jeff Gordon: Welcome to the top 10 in points for the second time this year.

Tony Stewart: Successful Truck race at Eldora, top-five at Indy, winning car owner.

Kyle Busch: Even a Nationwide Series win is special at the Brickyard.

Austin Dillon: Won the inaugural Truck race at Eldora and took over Nationwide points lead.

Sam Hornish Jr.: Lost a chance at Indy win and to keep Nationwide series lead.

Jeff Burton: Highest of highs at New Hampshire. Lowest of lows at Indy.

Night races at the Brickyard: Until the quality of racing improves, it's just a subpar race at night instead of the day.

- Jim Utter

Next race: 400

What: 160 laps or 400 miles

Where: Pocono Raceway, a 2.5-mile triangular, paved track in Long Pond, Pa.

When: 1 p.m. Sunday

Radio: Motor Racing Network

Last year's winner: Jeff Gordon

Also this week: Pennsylvania Mountains 125, Truck Series, Pocono Raceway, 1 p.m. Saturday, Speed.

U.S. Celllular 250, Nationwide Series, Iowa Speedway, 8 p.m. Saturday, ESPN.

Worth mentioning: If the Chase started this weekend, Tony Stewart and Martin Truex Jr. would claim the wild-card spots reserved for drivers in points positions 11 to 20 with the most wins. Both have one win. Ryan Newman has a win as well but is 20 points behind Truex.
