Brad Keselowski finally made it back to Victory Lane.
Its less than three months into the 2013 season and the reigning Sprint Cup Series champion has had lots of good finishes already but he was still craving a win.
With 10 of 250 laps remaining, Keselowski got around Kyle Busch on a restart and then held off Kevin Harvick to win Friday nights ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond International Raceway.
Weve had a lot of seconds this year, whether its here in the Nationwide and weve been really close on the Cup side and just havent been able to get that win, said Keselowski, who earned his 21st series victory.
I had fun and Kyle raced me really well, and so did Kevin. I think this is what racing is supposed to be like side-by-side and just little touches, but not big ones.
It was a great race all the way around here at Richmond and this is a great track.
Busch finished third, Brian Vickers was fourth and Regan Smith was fifth. Series points leader Sam Hornish Jr. finished seventh and holds a one-point lead over Smith.
Keselowskis celebration in Victory Lane was overshadowed in part by a confrontation on pit road between drivers Brian Scott and Nelson Piquet Jr.
The two bumped fenders on the track then hit each other on pit road after the race. Scott walked over to confront Piquet on pit road and video replays showed Piquet kicked Scott below the belt.
Both drivers were called to the NASCAR hauler after the race but no penalties are expected.
I guess that just shows his character to hit somebody below the belt, Scott said. More than anything its just an accumulation of a lot of racing together and him always racing me dirty.
The two drivers apparently had a disagreement during the race earlier this month at Martinsville, Va.
We both just got frustrated with each other and, you know, things happened, Piquet said. We both got angry.
