CLOVER, S.C. - A Clover man was arrested Sunday night after police say he fired his gun multiple times while drinking and celebrating Tony Stewarts NASCAR Race for the Cup championship victory.
According to the York County Sheriffs Office police report, Brian Kevin Young, 46, was arrested for disorderly conduct, use of a firearm under influence and malicious injury to real property. Police responded to his home off of Birchwood Drive around 9 p.m. after neighbors complained of hearing gun shots.
Police say Young admitted to shooting his 9mm handgun in celebration of Stewarts victory. An officer told Young to stop the shooting because he had been drinking and it was dark. Police left his home, but five minutes they received another report of gun shots.
According to the report, an officer returned and again spoke with Young while he held a beer in his hand. Young told officers he shot his handgun four more times and was then arrested.
Deputies received a search warrant and took the gun while also talking to the mans fiancé, who reportedly admitted Young had fired the shots and some of the shells were on her back porch.
