Notes: Petty ride sets mountain course

Ride to Victory with Kyle Petty
Kyle Petty will once again raise money for Victory Junction Gang Camp with this years version of the Ride to Victory.
The motorcycle ride will begin at ZMax Dragway in Concord, N.C., on Oct. 16. It will run through the mountains of Western North Carolina, including Lake Lure, and conclude in Swannanoa, N.C.
The cost of participation is $45 in advance and $55 the day of the event. Riders can preregister by visiting www.kylepettycharityride.com or calling (704) 714-4545.
Sauter, Crafton re-sign with ThorSport
ThorSport Racing has re-signed drivers Matt Crafton and Johnny Sauter to drive its two Truck series entries again in 2012.
Sauter is currently second in the series standings with one win. Crafton is seventh in points and also has a win this year.
ThorSport, which recently opened a 100,000 square-foot faclity in Sandusky, Ohio, is owned by Duke and Rhonda Thorson.
Vegas date set
Las Vegas Motor Speedway announced Friday its NASCAR Cup/Nationwide race weekend next season will be March 9-12.
