Worker dies after fall at Charlotte track

A contract employee of Huggins Tire Sales Inc. has died from injuries sustained when he fell May 24 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Marvin Near fell from the back of a slow-moving pick-up truck driven by a Huggins employee while delivering Goodyear racing tires for the weekend's events at CMS.
The accident was investigated by Concord Police and no charges were filed.
We extend our sympathy to Mr. Nears family and our thoughts and prayers are with them, said Stu Grant, general manager of global race tires for Goodyear.
