Four-time Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is set to become a first-time dad.

Johnson and his wife, Chandra, are expecting their first child in July, a spokeswoman for the driver confirmed on Monday.

The Associated Press honored Johnson, 33, as 2009's top male athlete after he locked up a fourth consecutive Cup title last season. He and the former Chandra Janway were married in December 2004.

NASCAR fans will have the chance to follow the Johnsons up-close during Speedweeks in February through HBO's "24/7 Jimmie Johnson: Race to Daytona."

The four-part reality series is expected to provide behind-the-scenes access, along with in-depth interviews with Johnson, crew chief Chad Knaus, team owner Rick Hendrick and the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports team as they prepare for the Daytona 500.
