Rivalry, roughness and revenge
Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009
The Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski "feud" continued on the track Saturday. And it might have overshadowed Kyle Buschs victory and championship for some fans.
Immediately after a run-in at Phoenix last weekend and again leading up to Saturdays race, Hamlin repeatedly said he would exact revenge if given the opportunity.
On Lap 35 of 200, Hamlin found it running up behind Keselowski and spinning him out.
NASCAR penalized Hamlin a lap for rough driving.
I have feeling when he gets up in the morning hes not going to feel any better about himself," Keselowski said. "Hes got a lot of problems on and off the track.
Hamlin said he had no regrets. He even agreed with NASCAR's penalty.
"I feel great right now. It was well worth it, he said.
The sun was bad at that point, and Ill use that as my excuse. The fact is, I wasnt going to give him an inch.
Keselowski, who moves to Penske Racing next season, ended up 12th in the race and third in the standings.
