Hendrick adamant: No deal with Danica
Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009
AVONDALE, Ariz. – Rick Hendrick says he has no deal to bring IndyCar superstar Danica Patrick to NASCAR, and there's no certainty she'll even be driving stock cars next season.
Patrick is reportedly in the final stages of a contract that would partner her on a limited Nationwide Series schedule with JR Motorsports. Hendrick co-owns that team with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Speaking before Sunday's race at Phoenix International Raceway, Hendrick said Patrick and her representatives have yet to even decide if she'll try NASCAR in 2010 or wait another year.
He also says IndyCar is still Patrick's first priority, and existing contracts she has in that series could complicate any potential deals in NASCAR.
