New-look Nationwide entries on display
Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009
TALLADEGA, Ala. – While Ford had already unveiled the Mustang it will use in four races in the Nationwide Series next season, Dodge, Chevrolet and Toyota put their new cars on display this weekend at Talladega as well.
Like Ford, Dodge is using a different model – the Challenger – while Chevy and Toyota produced updated versions of their current entries, the Impala and Camry, respectively.
All four look more like their production counterparts than the cars being used in the Cup series.
The new cars are scheduled for testing on Monday at the 2.66-mile Talladega track. After running the four events next season, they are to be used in all of the Nationwide events beginning in 2011.
