FONTANA, Calif. – Tom Logano, the father of Saturday's race winner, had his annual credential confiscated by NASCAR after confronting a driver on pit road.

Shortly after Joey Logano won Saturday's Copart 300 at Auto Club Speedway, Tom Logano was waiting on pit road for driver Greg Biffle.

Even before Biffle's car came to a stop, Logano was gesturing toward Biffle and the two got into a heated confrontation, witnesses said.

The elder Logano was upset over an incident in the race during which Biffle's Ford made contact with his son's Toyota, sending it into the wall. The wreck happened shortly after Biffle had apparently indicated in radio communications with his team that he would do exactly that.

NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said officials would also review Biffle's in-race communications next week.

Tom Logano visited Victory Lane with his son before being summoned to a meeting with Nationwide Series director Joe Balash.

For the time being, including for Sunday's Cup race, Tom Logano will have to sign in outside the track to obtain a single-event license to obtain access, NASCAR officials said.
