INDIANAPOLIS - Toyota completed a strong weekend, getting a ninth-place finish in Sunday's Allstate 400 from driver Dave Blaney – his first top 10 of the season – to go with the manufacturer’s first Busch Series win.
The Busch win came courtesy of driver Jason Leffler on Saturday night at nearby O’Reilly Raceway Park.
There was another bonus for Blaney and his No. 22 Toyota team. The good finish moved him into 35th in car owner points, assuring the team of a spot in next weekend’s race at Pocono.
“I can’t say enough about (crew chief) Tommy Baldwin; he’s been doing a great job,” Blaney said.
“He just keeps getting better every week with (the cars). That was a brand new car and it ran great.”
