    RCR officially re-ups with Chevrolet

    Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007

BROOKLYN, Mich. -- It surprised no one Saturday when Chevrolet announced it will continue its relationship with Richard Childress Racing for 2008 and beyond, re-signing the three-car team as one of its “key partners.”

Childress’ team long has been one of the cornerstones of Chevrolet’s NASCAR participation.

As for Joe Gibbs Racing, which is widely believed to be at least considering a move to Toyota, Ed Peper, Chevrolet general manager, said Chevrolet is still in negotiations with the team. “They have been an absolutely wonderful partner with us for many years,” Peper said.
