BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Chad Knaus, back with the No. 48 team this weekend after serving a six-week suspension for unapproved body modifications on the car submitted for inspections at Infineon Raceway in June, says he still doesn’t feel like what he did was wrong.
“I’m sorry for what happened but for the reason that it happened I'm not sorry,” he said. “What we did was not something that we thought was bad. We didn't feel like we were breaking the rules. We've said that a million times. I stand by that, that's the case.
“In NASCAR's eyes, they feel that we did do something wrong so I don't feel any regret, remorse or anything like that,” Knaus said. “Am I sorry that I missed the races? Am I sorry that I wasn't there? Absolutely. It's painstaking not being here but regret or remorse, no, that's not even an option.”
