1 Jeff Gordon starts third, three spots ahead of Jimmie Johnson. But Johnson is still 30 points ahead in the Chase for the Nextel Cup standings.
2 Johnny Sauter and Tony Raines don't have rides yet for the 2008 season. What they do have, however, are top-10 starting spots for today's race. Sauter starts fifth; Raines starts eighth.
3 Open-wheel stars in today's race: Juan Pablo Montoya, Sam Hornish Jr., Jacques Villeneuve and Patrick Carpentier, none of whom are likely to win.
