Elevator | Johnson shares ride up with Montoya

    The Charlotte Observer

    Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007

Riding the old racing elevator after a Martinsville Sunday:

UP – Jimmie Johnson Gets a third-straight win at Martinsville and picks up 15 points on Jeff Gordon in the Chase.

    DOWN – Tony Stewart

A 13th-place finish wasn’t what he needed to stay in the Chase. He’s 249 points back now and all but done.

UP – Juan Pablo Montoya He completed all 1,006 laps in the two Martinsville races this year. That might be the most impressive thing about his rookie season.
