Jimmie Johnson’s victory means that cars owned by Rick Hendrick have now won four races at Las Vegas. Roush Racing has five Cup victories here. Every other car owner, combined, has one.
Hendrick cars finished first, second and ninth (Kyle Busch) on Sunday while Roush had Matt Kenseth third, Carl Edwards sixth and Jamie McMurray 10th.
“It was hard to drive by yourself, but it was almost impossible when you were side by side,” said Kenseth, who said his team kept battling all day to make his car better and help him get a great finish on a tough day. “I think the racing is going to be great here in the future. It’s just going to take for them to ease up a little bit on the tire, make it a little softer, where we can race better.”
