Hamlin perseveres for third-place finish

LAS VEGAS -- Denny Hamlin said the only place he could see the leaders for much of Sunday’s race was in his rear-view mirror as they came up to try to lap him. But Hamlin hung in and came through the pack in the late going to finish third.
“This was a good run for us, just a good place to start,” Hamlin said. “I don’t feel like we have that feeling back that we had last year. It took us a long time last year before we got on a roll, that’s just a characteristic of our team.”
