NASCAR sees TV ratings for California Cup race decline

RICHMOND, Va. - ESPN’s broadcast of last Sunday night’s Cup race at California Speedway received a 4.3 national rating, down 15.7 percent from last season, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Last year’s race received a 5.1 rating.
Monday night’s Florida State-Clemson football game on ESPN was the highest-rated sports programming of the week, receiving a 5.0.
Last Saturday’s broadcast of the Busch Series race on ESPN2 received a 1.3 rating, down slightly from a 1.5 it received on TNT last season.
