closeSunday's race: Three things to watch

SUNDAY: SHARP AQUOS 500
California Speedway 8 p.m., ESPN.
3 Things To Watch
1 THE WEATHER. Yes, it's hot in a race car every week, but the track temperature has been around 150 degrees each afternoon. Even when the sun goes down and the air temperature "dips" below 100, that's as hot as it usually is at the worst on most days.
2 KURT BUSCH starts from the pole in a car he led 175 of 200 laps in on the way to a victory at Pocono. Can Busch continue the summer hot streak that has carried him into solid position to make the Chase for the Nextel Cup?
3 THE 12-MAN CHASE FIELD could be set after tonight's race. Or, somebody could have a problem and Dale Earnhardt Jr. could have a good run and there might actually be a little race to the Chase drama going into Richmond next week.
