Kahne wins again with fans in speedway balloting
Thursday, May. 14, 2009
Race fans have selected Kasey Kahne's win in the 2008 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race as the greatest racing moment in Lowe's Motor Speedway's history through a contest conducted on the speedway‘s Web site.
In the final round of voting, Kahne's all-star win, which was possible only because Kahne was voted into the field by fans, was paired against 1992's race, in which Davey Allison battled Kyle Petty for the win in the first race held under the lights.
“The fans got me into the All-Star Race last year and I owe that victory to them. It's pretty cool that they've voted that moment as the best,” Kahne said. “The speedway has a lot of history and I am proud to be a part of it.”
