It was a Kenseth kind of night Wednesday at Wisconsin's Slinger Super Speedway, with father and son posting wins.

Matt Kenseth, the former NASCAR Cup series champion, went to Victory Lane after the 200-lap Miller Lite Nationals for a record fifth time. Later, he watched 16-year-old Ross secure his first win at Slinger in the late model event.

"It's fun to come back and race these guys," Matt Kenseth said. "These are some of the best drivers you'll find anywhere and the competition is really tough, but it's always a lot of fun."

Kenseth's win put him ahead of four-time winners Lowell Bennett, Dick Trickle and the late Joe Shear. He also won the event in 1994, 2002, 2006 and 2008.

According to the quarter-mile oval's web site, the elder Kenseth was 13th when the race resumed Wednesday night after rain had halted it Tuesday. He moved into the lead just before the halfway mark and stayed there until the checkered flag.

Ross Kenseth took the late model lead on Lap 19 and pulled away, according to reports, and was challenged only briefly on a restart.

"The car was great tonight and I was real pleased with the way the race went on," the youngster said. "It was awesome having me win and my dad win tonight."
