Haas CNC Racing Announces Key Marketing Hire

Tuesday, Jan. 08, 2008

Kannapolis, N.C. – Hass CNC Racing continues to take major strides in identifying itself as a mainstay in the Sprint Cup Series. With its most recent addition, the team announces Mike Verlander will serve as Director of Business Development. Verlander brings his experience from MCG Sports where he managed business development for Joe Gibbs Racing.

The addition of Verlander is the latest in the team’s development of its two-car Sprint Cup operation. In 2007, Haas CNC Racing made major team expansion decisions including moving into a new 140,000 square-foot technologically-advanced race facility, announcing the plans to build a state-of-the-art rolling wind tunnel to be completed for the 2008 season, hiring Matt Borland as Director of Competition and concluding the season with the addition of NASCAR winning driver Scott Riggs and two-time chase qualifier Jeremy Mayfield.

“The addition of Mike complements our phase of moving Hass CNC Racing forward in 2008,” said General Manager Joe Custer. “His experiences, relationships and knowledge will help generate more awareness and credibility for our brand. He can immediately help our current and future partners benefit from our recent growth.”

Verlander has worked with leading teams including Evernham Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing. He has introduced and managed corporate partners through the highest levels of NASCAR. Verlander will begin duties immediately from Haas CNC Racing facilities.

“Haas CNC Racing has made every commitment needed to be successful both on and off the track,” commented Verlander. “With the addition of people like Matt Borland, Scott Riggs and Jeremy Mayfield plus the new wind tunnel and race shop, the team has a phenomenal story to tell. I’m honored to have been chosen to help lead this brand in 2008 and beyond. I look forward to introducing everyone to NASCAR’s best-kept secret.”

Haas CNC Racing will begin their 2008 racing season during test sessions at Daytona International Speedway in January.
