Notes | Schrader, RCR hook up for 600; award nominations sought

The Charlotte Observer

Thursday, May. 15, 2008

A couple of quickies from the midweek motorsports notebook:

• Ken Schrader will drive the No 33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in next week’s Coca-Cola 600. Schrader, 57, will attempt to get the fourth RCR car into the race in qualifying next Thursday.

• Nominations are now open for NASCAR Humanitarian Award, sponsored by The Home Depot. The award, in its second year, recognizes any active employee in the NASCAR industry who shows extraordinary dedication to serving others and improving communities through meaningful service efforts. Nomination forms can be found online at www.homedepotracing.com/humanitarian and must be submitted by Sept. 6.
