Hamlin part of group planning Charlotte eatery
Friday, Jul. 24, 2009
INDIANAPOLIS - Sprint Cup driver Denny Hamlin has joined with a group of investors planning to open a franchise of the popular New York club/restaurant, Butter, in the Charlotte area.
The restaurant in New York features booming music as well as a New American menu, an extensive wine list and specialty cocktails.
“It will probably be opening up in two to three months in Charlotte. I was approached by a guy and he approached me about starting a partnership. He wanted to open a Butter in North Carolina and I told him I was in with him for sure,” Hamlin said.
“Something I always enjoy doing is going out, having a good time and getting some good food. We just took it upon ourselves to start a partnership and we have a couple of other good investors, a good group.”
The restaurant will be located near the Uptown Amphitheater at the Music Factory on Hamilton Street in Charlotte.
